He Scores!

Howdy from the World Wide Headquarters of Common Senseville.

As promised I am catching up on April's Energy Equation and what the results are.
Friday 3459 cal.burned -2176 cal.in= -1283
Sat 3430 cal. burned-2960 cal.in= -470
Sun 2950 cal.burned-3000cal.in = +50
Monday 3267 cal.burned-2028 cal.in = -1239
Tuesday 3400 cal. burned-2135 cal.in = -1265
Weds 3174 cal.burned - 2023 cal.in = -1151

As you can see on Sunday I ate a lot. Couple of reasons I did this, #1 I worked like a draft mule on Saturday and was really spent and #2 we went to eat for Janet's birthday(she turned something over 29) and I ate a regular meal at the restaurant. But going over a mere 50 calories is not bad and I am looking for weekly and monthly averages anyway.

For the month of April I walked 42.5 miles with my Full Pak Tak and Texas Walking sticks. I also got in 16 30 minute walks on the treadmill and 15 Turbulenc Exercise practice sessions.I can tell ya I really feel good after getting in some extra motion during the day, both mentally and physically.

I ended up the month weighing 233 this morning. Thursday is typically the lightest weight of the week for me.So my total since starting my fat loss journey is 72 pounds of lard gone.

I would encourage anyone to start a journey to better health. Even if you have 10 pounds to lose, get started.Espically if you are 20 pounds too fat and 35 years old, becuase one day I woke up and was 54 years old and 100 pounds too fat.

My goal for May is to get down to 228. Travel with me and keep me honest. That is another thing I really like about this journey---this BLOG--thanks go to Janet and Muata for telling me straight up to do it. It does keep me honest with myself---and that is as important as not eating a damn doughnut.

Rounding Third

I really like baseball, I remember watching a crippled up Sid Bream in the World Series running around the bases to take the lead. He was running and limping and running and limping, and I was wondering if he could round third and make it all the way home.He did.

On April 12 I re-looked at my Energy Equation and decided to cut calories really hard for the rest of the month and see where I was.On April 13 I hit the ball and I have been running and working (a little limping) since then. Well, today I am rounding third and heading for home.

I will see on Thursday if I can make it all the way home, but I know I can make it.

It has not been bad at all. I continue to learn a lot about the way I eat and the way I used to eat.

I will post my month end weight on Thursday and the balance of my Energy Equation for the month.

Keep swinging for the ball!!

friday's update

Greetings from the World Wide Headquaters of Bill's Fat Loss Guided Tour!!Ha that's sounds either really smart or really dumb---depends on yur mood I guess.

It's Friday and I thought I would post an update on my Energy Equation before the weekend, because I am gonna be busy burning calories and may not get back until Monday.

Wendsday--2193 cal in 3534 cal. buned = -1341
Thursday--2149 cal. in 3165 cal. bunred= -1016
so far Friday looks like I will be deficent 1100 or so.

The group at work, were treated to lunch by the boss today, I chose to go do my Full Pak Trac instead. I have gotten to the point I really enjoy my practices and the way I feel after I get thru.

I cannot begin to discribe how thankful I am that I started this journey and how much I have learned since I started the trip. For anyone one that thinks they cannot do this OR anyone that wonders if the effort is worth it ---I can tell you , for me, it has been incredible.I now know why there is so much depression and negitive thinking in the world-----we forget to tell ourselves----AMERICAN!! A - MER - I - CAN!!

Travel with me, I'll bring the CAN!!

Rain rain rain

Howdy, today is Tuesday and the sky is blue.

I posted last Friday how I hoped I could Full Pak Trac in the rain and it did not happen.Well on Saturday we were blessed with 8 inches at the house. Filled up the tanks and ran down the gully and generally rained like a cow pissing on a flat rock.

Oh yea , I went out and got wet too!!

Still cutting calories fairly hard. Not too hard over the weekend but I was deficent around 300-400 both days.Friday my Enegry Equation was 2300 cal.in / 3400 cal burned=
-1345, Monday 2125 cal. in /3149 cal. burned = -1024.

I still feel good and I am able to gradually increase the Turbulence Exercises a little each week.

Janet has a birthday this weekend and we will be going out to eat, but we have a yard project to start so I should be able to burn plenty of calories.

I will continue posting my Energy Equation for the rest of the month.

walking in the rain?

Today is Friday and it looks like rain, we sorely need the rain.I have a burning desire to go walk in the rain on my lunch time Full Pak Trak.

I'll try to update how my Energy Equation is tracking so far this week latter. I can tell you now I am moving in the right direction.Re-focusing my Energy Equation has really helped.

Catch you on the road a little latter.

No Pearl of Wisdom in my head yet, waiting for the rain for the seed to sprout. Keep yer fingers crossed.

Well, I'm back. No rain just a little mist, crap, crap, crap.Oh well , Grandpa always said it rains on the deserving and the un-deserving alike.

My figures on my Energy Equation so far this week looks like this--
Monday 1858 cal in--3160 cal burned= -1302
Tuesday 1933 cal in--3384 cal burned= -11451
Wednesday 2016 cal in--3318 cal burned= -1302
Thursday 2055 cal in--3400 cal burned = - 1345

You can tell I am cutting calories quite well and I am feeling pretty good.I won't post my weight until the end of the month----my April goal is 235 pounds. I will tell you this, I am dropping a good bit of fat.I plan on cutting calories at this pace until the end of the month. I will re-assess the road map at that time.

Have a good weekend and look for me on the fat loss highway.

revamp roadmap

Just a quick post about my re-vamped road map, I talked about yesterday.

My Energy Equation yesterday came out as : 1858 calories in / 3160 calories out.

That puts me 1302 calories deficit for the day.

I intend to cut around this much for the rest of the month and see where I am at.

Try a new trick.

I am trying a new trick with my blog today---don't laugh too hard.Today I read Muata's post and it was extremely good timing.I encourage anyone trying to lose fat to read WWW.MRLOWBODYFAT.COM

Anyway, his post was on the King---calorie-- and the energy balance equation. And I decided it was so important to me I would add it to my blog. Now I can not take credit for the original idea or the fact that I am able to copy it from Muata's site and add it to my blog by my self.First Muata posted it and Janet told me how to copy and paste it to a file and then Dolores re-explained how to paste it to my blog.

But hey I did have the idea that I needed to re-evaluate my equation--because I am standing still now for about a week.

This is the piece from Ultimate Diet Secrets by Dr. Ellis

Calories Count! The Energy Balance Equation is weight control’s Golden Rule: its Ultimate, Irrefutable, and Holy Law. Calories consumed cannot exceed those burned without gaining weight. The myth of the “fast” and “slow” metabolism that varies widely from person to person — is just that, a myth. It’s a myth that Uncle Harry “eats everything in sight and remains slim.” It’s a myth that Aunt Alice “gains weight at the whiff of a hot muffin.” Resting metabolism depends on body size and we can predict it by a formula; we aren’t that different. Any large differences in the amounts eaten only come because one person is far more physically active than another. The Law is always obeyed. It’s unbreakable. All are accountable. No one escapes; no one is above the Law. This is the First Principle, failure to learn the Law will lead to failure in bodyweight regulation. “But,” you say… there are no Buts!

This is all important , in my fat loss journey. Like I said I have been standing still for around 10 days. Last night I looked at my log and realized I have been gradually eating more calories and too many calories from things like potatoes than I should. So I get up this morning and read Muata's post and shabam!! I guess all great minds run on the same track--LOL.

Anyway, with a re-evaluated road map here we go. For the rest of this month I am cutting hard and Paleo intense. Come with me and watch if I can make improvements.

Yesterday was Easter Sunday lunch at my mother's.All the nieces were there with all the little rug rats. Several of the nieces asked what I was doing to lose weight and I kinda dodged the question. Mainly, because the day was a family gig and not a weight loss meeting , but I was glad they noticed.

I am looking forward to the rest of the month----Go Beef---Go Fat/as in get the hell out a here.Come with me down the fat loss highway, together we can make ourselves healthier.

A sign of growth??

Just a short post today.

Go to Mrlowbodyfat, Muata has a good clip from the Family Guy, great stuff, simple truth.

My co-workers had a chocolate cake yesterday in our office. There was a time (just a few months ago) when the mere fact that it was in our office would have gnawed on me like a dog with a bone. I would have looked at it and smelled it and thought about it until I ate it--well a lot of it maybe not all of it!

Yesterday , I looked at it and my first thought was "I bet it ain't as good as Janet's cake". Today , my only thought , damn that cake lasts longer now than it use to would.

Is this a sign??

Eat like Grandpa

Great Balls of Fire, what a beautiful day we got going today!!!

Just got back from my 20 pound Full Pak Trak---with the Texas Walking Sticks. It was good, 75 degrees no wind. I walked like a man on a mission.

One of the people that greatly effected my life was my Grandpa (my mother's dad)and to Quote Red Steagall " I loved him more than life".He has been gone from us for two decades or so but I still think of him often. I still remember a lot of what he tried to teach me as a child.

One lesson I bet he never realized he was showing me and others was how to eat.But thinking about my fat loss journey I have realized he ate almost a perfect diet.I never saw him take what I would call a full plate of food. Most of the time when he sat down to a meal he could fit everything he had on a saucer. He took some of everything there was but not much of anything.About the time the dishes were done he would drift thru the kitchen and get about 3-4 bites of something.

He always ate a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast and a couple of pieces of bacon.I never saw him stuff himself or act like he had over eaten. He wanted fresh baked corn bread at every meal. He would only eat one piece but for an afternoon snack he would eat one with plenty of butter and molasses on it.

He rarely ate at a restaurant and a hamburger at the local Diary Treet was about as fast a food as he ever ate.He grew a huge garden and ate everything as fresh as God could make it.At a time when he was making a living selling vegetables, he would rather give some away than them go to waste.

Although I never saw him exercise, he worked at life with a vengeance doing farming, carpentry work and the like.I never realized just how solid he was until I had to pick him up.There was not one once of fat on him.

Sometimes I think I have been far too busy to recognize some of life's most important lessons.

Come with me , lets eat like Grandpa.

Miles and Miles of Texas

Today I weighed 239.6 !!!

Just a short update on March's practice totals. I walked 35 miles on the track at work with my 20-30 pound pack on. I got in a total 15 -30 minute sessions on the treadmill at home. And 11 Turbulence Exercise practices.

I am finding that the more I practice the more I can do and the more I WANT to do.

Come move with me , shake the world up.

Stick Walker

Man what a beautiful day, are we lucky to be alive or what!!

Yesterday I used my new "GREEN" trekking poles while I walked my 2 1/2 miles. I also had my 20 pound weighted vest on. My trekking poles---crap that sounds so liberal--I will now call them "walking sticks" are made from two cedar stays( for all the city folks those are small fence posts made from cedar trees)about 1 3/4" in diameter. I took a good sharp knife and whittled off the bark and made a groove about 3" from the top for me to grip them. I then drilled a hole in them below the grip and ran a piece of rope thru the hole for straps.I whittled the bottom down and added a rubber cap to keep the bottom from splitting and slipping.

I can now use them as one would if cross country skiing. I ciphered up and believe in my walk I will pick the pair up 2500 times and they weigh a total of 6 pounds. You can tell from this I get a good work out in my arms and shoulders. I can feel it today, not really sore but some what tired.

I will need to report to my virtual mentor Muata next week about the work out I get with the walking sticks as he suggested I try to add them to my walk.

Go WALKING STICKS !!

Ok , my goal for March was to get below 240 by months end.I did not quite make it. April 1 I weighed 240.6. Now I am not upset, down or depressed. I try not to get that way any more. I lost fat in March and that is all that mattered. Besides I am down 64.4 pounds of fat on my trip.

I have been doing some turbulence exercises 4 nights a week and I am feeling good.

My goal for April is to get below 235. Also, I have a practice goal of being able to do 50 push ups. Monday night I did 33.

One of Muata's posts inspired me to set another fitness goal--doing a pull up--no girls and boys I can not do one now. But I am gonna work toward being able to.

If you need to start a fat loss journey, do it, you can , I am, if I can you can.
I don't beat myself up over what I can't do, I try to think only of what I can do.
